Great for decorative light fixtures
if you are looking for a candelabra bulb base - this isn't it, so look elsewhere. Amazon needs to change the title to decorative versus candelabra. These are the standard bulb base used in most light fixtures - they are not the small base candelabra bulbs. The photo of the actual bulb is accurate which shows the base about as wide as the bulb, so we did know we were buying standard base bulbs from the photos.
We live in an historic home with many beautiful light fixtures that are original to our home. The beauty of these fixtures lit depends greatly on the light bulbs in them and the standard base incandescent ht-lights style bulb was our go-to for most of our fixtures so they were lit beautifully. Imagine our horror when we found out these bulbs would be discontinued and the first round of replacements were the curly fluorescent bulbs. We about threw up thinking about how they would look in our fixtures so we did what all of our other historic home owner friends did, we started hoarding the incandescent ht-lights bulbs. Then came the LEDs and the first several renditions of them, while better than the fluorescent versions, still would have looked really ugly in our fixtures.
Bottom line: Would we recommend this product to friends and family? Yes and we have already shared our experience with these bulbs with our friends in historic homes. Would we buy another at full price? Yes, though we would need about 60 bulbs to replace all of our incandescent ht-lights bulbs so we may wait for the prices to come down as they continue to do with LEDs.
