These light bulbs have a newer technology (MCOB) which use less energy and last longer. I had been buying CFL twist energy saver lightbulbs which I thought were nice, until I learned about these bulbs. The CFL energy saving bulbs I had last 12,000 hours and these MCOB HT-lights light bulbs last 35,000 hours. They are a little more expensive, but it's worth the money to invest because they use less energy and last more than twice as long. In the long run, you end up saving more money with the MCOB LED Bulbs. I also like the design and material these are made out of. If I were to drop one of these, I dont need to worry about it shattering like a CFL bulb would. They also don't get hot like CFL bulbs do. I think eventually, CFL bulbs will be phased out and all manufacturers will be selling MCOB bulbs. I got the daylight white colored ones and now would love to have a set of the warm color too. These are the first LED lights that we have tried out thus far, and after using them in our living room for a few days now, we plan to eventually switch all of our bulbs out with them. It has taken us a little to get use to the light it produces, which has a color temperature of 4000 Kelvin, so it is much different than your average bulb, whether CFL or incandescent. Excellent product that works well and is fully compatible wherever incandescent or CFL bulbs were prior. I am slowly changing all the light bulbs in our house from older incandescents (when they burn out) and getting rid of those dangerous mercury-filled CFLs as quickly as I can! I'm glad I never made a big investment in them because they're dangerous if they break and not one of them has lasted anywhere near the hours they promised me (with most giving out 1/3 the way through!). All of the LED lights that I have used in the past are still working fine today. It's just that when they first came out they were very, very expensive. Now their cost has gone down considerably. Since they'll last for so many years I'm putting them in the hardest to reach areas first so I don't have to worry about it until the next decade of my life! Great for decorative light fixtures if you are looking for a candelabra bulb base - this isn't it, so look elsewhere. Amazon needs to change the title to decorative versus candelabra. These are the standard bulb base used in most light fixtures - they are not the small base candelabra bulbs. The photo of the actual bulb is accurate which shows the base about as wide as the bulb, so we did know we were buying standard base bulbs from the photos. We live in an historic home with many beautiful light fixtures that are original to our home. The beauty of these fixtures lit depends greatly on the light bulbs in them and the standard base incandescent ht-lights style bulb was our go-to for most of our fixtures so they were lit beautifully. Imagine our horror when we found out these bulbs would be discontinued and the first round of replacements were the curly fluorescent bulbs. Perfect replacement bulbs for recessed can lights I received a review set and loved them (clean light, low power and good presentation) so much I bought more. It's been a long road getting decent light in my loft. The room has multiple recessed outlets, but not enough power to supply all those 60 watt bulbs, a computer, TV, plus the surge from a vacuum cleaner all at once. To fix this I moved over to CFLs, but the colors were awful, some took time to warm up and when they did... they were often too bright, and worst of all they didn't last nearly as long as they should. I'm pretty sure their short life was due to mild power drops that wore on their circuitry, so even though I don't have dimmers in that room, I am happy that these are dimmable so that they are prepared to handle partial power drops. Nice flat look. Output is a warm color, but not quite as warm as the old bulbs. All in all a great bulb. These LED light bulbs look nice once installed. Much better than the globe look of my older ones. The light output is pretty much what I got from my old bulbs. I replaced one and compared this with the other one in an adjacent fixture. However, these are not quite as warm as the old bulb. They are close, but it is noticeable that the light output is not as 'warm' as the other. A bit more, not much, harsh. Made the color of the wall stand out. That being said, I was comparing the new vs the old which was right next to it. If you only are using these bulbs you probably won't notice the difference. It is a warm output which is nice. But as I said not exactly the output of the old bulb. All in all I like the flat look. And the output is just fine. And of course the energy savings is great. You should be quite happy with these LED bulbs.

Good and Efficient LED Bulb 75 watt Equivalent I’m into natural light, so I don’t usually gravitate toward the LED bulbs . They are usually too bright, and I would prefer to open windows and get natural light from outside and during the night, if they are too over-powering and you have 4 light bulbs in one unit, I end up switching them to lower watt bulbs. This bulb is 75 watts, which is usually too much for me in our living area, since we have fans with 4 bulbs and 4-75 watt bulbs would be too much, so I used it in an accent light that has only 1 bulb and was in a dim area. I had an Edison bulb in this one and it was too dim when I repurposed the room. This bulb is perfect, it gives a beautiful light they call “daylight.” It was a pleasant color.
